XWe live in a world of racial, geographic, economic and cultural tensions, where the easiest option is to focus on differences. It seems that understanding and tolerance are almost meaningless. I wonder if we were to look at our deepest desires we would find these same differences.
To what extent does our personal or cultural environment influence our dreams and desires? Is self-knowledge and self-confidence fundamental to the discovery and realization of our dreams and true desires? How do they develop from our childhood (are they subject to social and cultural restrictions)? Are there that many differences between us all?
Despite our social, cultural, geographic, and religious differences, does man have the same concerns? I am referring to our innermost concerns, dreams and desires, the most authentic, the ones that have most to do with us and with our inner self. The ones that really show who and what we are.
This work is a search for our deepest sleep, which best represents us. By bringing it out in the open we can see if we are so very different from each other or are much more alike than we imagined. I also use the concept of desire as the principle of all creation. From the moment of our first thought we are creating. I am interested in the idea of man as the creator of his own life and his surroundings. At the moment we begin to visualize our desires we are already activating them in some way.
