Estampa 2025 celebrates its 33rd edition with new sections and a committed collecting scene
The Estampa fair celebrates its 33rd edition from October 9 to 12 at Pavilion 6 of IFEMA MADRID, presenting a more curated proposal, a refined selection of projects, and a comprehensive program of activities that strengthen the art market while promoting a collecting culture committed to contemporary creation in Spain.
With the participation of more than 90 contemporary art galleries and nearly a thousand national and international artists, Estampa consolidates its position as the major autumn event for the art market in Spain. Additionally, Argentine artist Liliana Porter will be the guest artist for this edition.
Our proposal for this edition consists of a selection of recent works by Miguel Ángel Barba (Ciudad Real, 1978). Our gallery’s relationship with this Cuenca-based painter began in the spring of 2005. Since then, we have witnessed his evolution as a painter through six solo exhibitions, as well as his regular participation in fairs and group projects organized by the gallery.
After a long period of slower production—characterized by meticulous discipline and an almost obsessive pursuit of order and perfection—Barba has made a significant shift in his creative process over the past three years. His current work stands out for its greater fluidity, immediacy, and spontaneity, resulting in a body of unstretched canvases where colored pencils, waxes, and graphite, applied over a primed surface, form different series featuring motifs such as crosses, lines, grids, and other compositions.
