ARCO Madrid 2021

-

Our proposal for this edition of ARCO Madrid 2021 has as its backbone one of the work known as flat-paintings by the British artist Simon Callery, one of our most recent additions to the team of represented artists. This work will be accompanied by an imposing sculpture by Susana Solano, from the artist's private collection, which has also participated in the important retrospective exhibition that took place in 2019 at IVAM in Valencia. Both pieces will be flanked by two large canvases by the painter Joan Hernández Pijuan, in which two mulberry trees are depicted with a delicacy and exquisite synthesis, typical of these themes of nature that are so recurrent in his work.

As a complement to this project, on the sides of the stand we have conceived two smaller rooms where we will make an extension of the group exhibition that we inaugurated last September during APERTURA Madrid Gallery Weekend 2020, with which we commemorated the 15th anniversary of the gallery. As we did in our space in Orellana, these two rooms will hang works establishing dialogues and connections between some of our artists and collaborators, such as Regine Schumann, Sabine Finkenauer, Marta Barrenechea, Ken Matsubara, Edgar Plans and Anne Buckwalter.
